As with any new skill, reading about it greatly increases proficiency. Dirty talk is no different. Before you get the external dialogue going, you need to get the internal dialogue going, and what better way to do that, then to read.
The books that will always have a special place in my kinky heart are Macho Sluts by Pat Califia (who I once met at a play party!), and The Beauty Trilogy by Anne Rice – The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty’s Punishment, and Beauty’s Release. Macho Sluts is a collection of gender bending kinky bedtime stories. I can not recommend it highly enough. The Beauty Trilogy is a pony themed BDSM take on the classic Sleeping Beauty. It’s simply amazing. Anne Rice first published it under the name A.N. Roquelaure and I remember being quite thrilled to find out that my favorite Vampire writer was kinky. Because trust me, there is no way these stories came from a vanilla soul.
Not that Interview with a Vampire is all that tame.
But, if reading about spankings and name calling and things, large things, being put into ones butt is not a turn on for you, you should probably not read any of those books. We can find you something else a little more peaceful.
These are the books that taught me to explore – both myself and others. Reading is an excellent way to learn The Dirty Talk if using Niteflirts isn’t your speed.
I would recomend more books, but there are SO many good ones, and it really depends on where your interests lie. I would suggest perusing through your local library, or book store, or Amazon has a great selection that can even be downloaded to your kindle. Thankfully, most publishers know you aren’t looking for a real novel, and many books of erotica are collections of short stories. And trust me, there is something for everyone. Even if you aren’t exactly looking to buy. I ended up getting G is for Games while doing my research. Nearly bought Carnal Machines as well. Actually – I’ll probably buy that one soon too. It’s steampunk erotica! *swoon!*
Not that I ever actually have time to read these days…
How often for you read erotica? What is your favorite erotica? Why? Do you ever read it out loud to your lover? Do you ever write it yourself?
